The launching ceremony of Pakistan Culture Tour Exhibition, Gandhara Smile and Pakistan Theme Day organized by Shanghai Cooperation Organization Demonstration Area (SCODA) and Pakistan-China Center held in the city of Qingdao in Shandong province. The event was held as part of the 70 years celebrations of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties.
Mr. Hao Guaxin, member of the Party Working Committee of SCODA said that this exhibition would open a window for Chinese citizens to Pakistani culture and further enrich the Pakistani elements of SCODA, to become an important microcosm of cultural dialogue between China and Pakistan. He said this exhibition would further promote and highlight the long lasting friendship between two countries.
Ms. Syeda Saira Raza, Press Attaché, representing the Pakistan Embassy stated that while celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties it was an opportune moment to remember the historic and civilizational linkages between the two countries. She also said two famous Chinese monks Fa Xian and Xuan Zang made a journey to Buddhist seminaries in Pakistan many centuries back and brought with them not only the pearl of wisdom but also the warm sentiments of brotherly love which underlines our present fraternal ties.
The Gandhara smile is the first exhibition of the “Walking in to Pakistan” series initiated by Pakistan China Centre to promote cultural exchanges and people to people contact between China and Pakistan.
Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”. Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
