Pakistan participated in the 4th Session of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Expo held in the Fujian capital city of Fuzhou from 17-19 May 2021 as “Country of Honor”. It was part of the activities planned to mark the 70th anniversary of establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.
Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Ahmed Farooq and Consul General Dr. Diyar Khan represented Pakistan on this occasion. A special ceremony was held to inaugurate the Pakistan Pavilion followed by presentations on business opportunities in Pakistan. Visuals and micromentries highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage were also shown at the Pavilion. The event was attended by the local Officials, Chinese businessmen and investors.
Pakistani exhibitors displayed a range of export items of wood, marble, leather, wool and brass. Pakistani stalls also received great interest and attention from the visitors.
Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”. Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
