A Hashtag social media campaign was launched a week prior to the day of 70th anniversary celebrations. Three trends were started on the Chinese social media platforms of Kuishou, Toutiau and Weibo with special hashtags drafted for the occasion which included Embassy events and Ambassador’s special interviews relation to the Pak-China relations.
The trends got millions of views in initial days of the launch and doubled on the day of anniversary i.e. 21st May 2021.
Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”. Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
