This year marks the 70th anniversary of establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties, which started on 21 May 1951. To celebrate this special occasion, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Shanghai organized a thematic light show today, 21 May 2021. The friendship slogans and the logo of 70th anniversary were displayed on the Citi Plaza, a famous viewpoint along the iconic Shanghai Bund, from 6 pm to 11 pm.
The Consul General and his team joined by Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office and members of Pakistan community witnessed the light show.
Pakistan and China enjoy close and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1951. Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the People’s Republic of China. Over the years, the relationship has blossomed into an “all weather strategic cooperative partnership”. Pakistan considers China as one of its closest friend and partner and China considers Pakistan as its “Iron Brother”.
